I was born in New York, grew up in Taiwan, and later spent many years studying and living in Beijing. Moving across these cultural spaces shaped the way I think about language, place, identity, and belonging. I received systematic training in Chinese language education at Beijing Language and Culture University and Peking University, where I earned my master's degree in Teaching Chinese as an International Language.
For a long time, I looked outward for a sense of place and possibility. After returning to Taiwan, I began to see the stories that had always been around me: everyday food, festivals, places, family memories, children's books, and the quiet details of daily life.
I came to understand culture not as something distant or abstract, but as something carried through language, memory, relationships, and the stories we pass on to children.
Through Taiwan stories, picture books, cultural themes, family memories and creative projects, I create structured, warm, and culturally grounded Chinese learning experiences for heritage and bilingual children ages 5–12. My goal is not only to help children learn Chinese, but to help them reconnect with family, culture, and their own stories through Chinese.
